The Lady Panthers softball season is underway as the team currently sits at 2-1 on the early season after their 6-4 win against Kirkwood of Clarksville on Monday night. Tonight the Lady Panthers travel to Allen County-Scottsville to take on the Lady Patriots where they look to take the first game out of two meetings this year. Looking to continue their success from last season, the Lady Panthers have started off on the right foot.

The Lady Panthers are coming off a 20-win season, district runner-up, Class A 4th Regional championship, and Class A State quarterfinals appearance. Speaking with the Lady Panthers softball head coach Ryan Davenport, he talked about what the team will look like this year, “We are returning seven starters from last season, including five seniors. Seniors Reese Croslin and Madison Penrod have already signed letters of intent to play at the collegiate level next season.” Graduating their starting pitcher Amiyah Collier, Davenport talked about who will take over for her, “Sophomore Chloe Penrod, senior Madison Penrod, and 8th grader Rylee Grayson will see most of the action on the mound this year. All three pitchers have worked really hard this off-season to prepare for their much bigger role on the mound.”
