Nathan Cockrill, Solid Waste Coordinator, reminded the court of the upcoming Waste Tire Event on May 2-4. The event will be held at the State Highway Barn, 1203 Nashville St. Hours for Thursday and Friday will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
Cockrill also requested amending a recycling grant to add the cost of a new skid steer. The current one has issues and adding the cost of a new one would include trading in the current one.

She said there are 10 outdoor and one indoor kennels at the shelter still in use, but they will need to get those by the end of the month. The excess food is being distributed to surrounding county’s shelters, she said.
The next Fiscal Court meeting is today at 9 a.m. in the courtroom of the historic courthouse. The meeting was moved due to a BRADD summit meeting on Tuesday. All meetings are open to the public and available to view via live feed on the county’s YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/@logancountyfiscalcourt7599/streams.
