Adairville’s Police Chief recently released information regarding an uptick in crime in and around his city which includes multiple traffic stops that resulted in drug arrests.
On March 8, at approximately 6:54 p.m., Police Chief Aaron Ashby conducted a traffic stop at Trimble Service Station on N. Main St. on a 1995 Nissan Sentra for the operator, Sara Elizabeth Gay, 38, of Lewisburg, Tenn., failing to wear her seatbelt.
During the investigation of the traffic stop, it was determined that Gay had an outstanding warrant out of Fayette County, Ky., and was placed under arrest.
While waiting for a tow truck for the vehicle, Chief Ashby conducted a free air sniff search of the vehicle with his K-9, Luna, who had a positive alert at the front driver door. A research of the vehicle located, on the front floorboard, a black bag containing a crystal rock substance suspected to be methamphetamine, one baggie with a brown powdered substance suspected to be heroin, marijuana, and one set of digital scales.
Gay was lodged in the Logan County Detention Center without further incident. She is charged with failure to wear seatbelt; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana; possession of a controlled substance, first degree, first offense (methamphetamine); possession of a controlled substance, first degree, first offense (heroin), and operating a motor vehicle under the influence, first.
Chief Ashby was assisted by Officer Ryan Brown of the Adairville Police Department.
On March 29, at approximately 8:06 p.m., Chief Ashby conducted a traffic stop on US-431 S on a 2016 Nissan Altima for failure to dim headlights toward oncoming traffic. When Chief Ashby made contact with the operator, Shelby Montana Danish, 29, of Bethel Springs, Tenn., and passenger, Dominic M. Weirich, 20, of Adamsville, Tenn., there was a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle.
Through further investigation of the traffic stop, it was determined that both Danish and Weirich were in possession of marijuana, THC wax’s, and multiple THC pens, along with a large amount of U.S. currency. Both were placed under arrest and lodged in the Logan County Detention Center without further incident.
Danish is charged with failure to dim headlights; trafficking in marijuana less that 8 oz., first offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Weirich is charged with trafficking in marijuana less than 8 oz, first offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On April 4, at approximately 6:47 p.m., the Adairville Police Department along with the Auburn Police Department, were conducting special operations on US 68 E. Chief Ashby conducted a traffic stop on a 2013 Hyundai Sonata for following too closely. The vehicle was operated by Leonard Warfield, 58, of Elkton. Upon making contact with Warfield, there was a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle.
Through further investigation, Warfield was found to be in possession of marijuana, suspected methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia. Warfield was placed under arrest and lodged in the Logan County Detention Center without further incident. He is charged with following another vehicle too closely; possession of marijuana; possession of controlled substance, first degree, first offense (methamphetamine); possession of a controlled substance, first degree (fentanyl); possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating motor vehicle under the influence, third.
Chief Ashby was assisted by Officer Nezirevic with the Auburn Police Department, and Deputy Wright with the Logan County Sheriff Department.
