Rodney Max Wood, 63, of Russellville, died Saturday, March 9, 2013, at his home.

He was born in Muhlenberg County on April 12, 1949, a son of the late Walter Edward and Ruby Atchison Wood.

Mr. Wood was the assistant superintendent at the Kentucky Highway Dept. in Russellville. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Lewisburg.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 13 at 2 p.m. at the Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel with Brother Donnie White and Kim Curtis Stone officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation began at the funeral home Tuesday, March 12 after 5 p.m. and Wednesday, March 13 after 8 a.m. until time of service. Masonic services were held at the funeral home Tuesday, March 12 at 7 p.m.

Pallbearers were Max Wood, Tyler Wood, Matthew Wood, Jason Wood, Brian Wheeler, Cody Costello and Chyle Costello.

He is survived by his wife, Valerie Nash Wood; his sons, Max Wood and wife Holly and Mark Wood, both of Russellville; his sisters, Kay Chatman Moore of Evansville, Ind., Sherry Wheeler of Iuka, Miss. and Walteen Curtis of Franklin, Tenn., and his grandchildren, Tyler Wood, Matthew Wood, Kalie Wood, Malachai Wood and Odin Wood.
