James “Dan” Hallman, 74, of Adairville, died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at his home.

He was born in Logan County on Sept. 17, 1938, a son of the late Clarence Elliott and Ella Lee Richardson Hallman. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hallman was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Thurtell Graydon.

Mr. Hallman was a member of the Millertown Church of Christ, a graduate of Adairville High School and was one of the first 20 employees with E. R. Carpenter Company where he retired as a Department Manager.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 5 at 11 a.m. in the Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel with Don Billingsley and Brent Lee officiating. Burial followed in the Greenwood Cemetery in Adairville. Visitation began in the funeral home Monday, March 4 from 2-7 p.m. and Tuesday, March 5 from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Pallbearers were Blake Vick, Parker Vick, Bruce Quick, Brian Johnston, Jimmy Jenkins, Bryant Hallman, Joseph Violette and Art Violette.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Hallman; his son, Dale Hallman of Adairville; his daughter, DeAnn Vick and her husband Mark of Adairville; his sister, Delores Violette of Adairville, and his grandchildren, Blake and Parker Vick.

The Family ask that donations be made to the Hospice of Southern Kentucky, 5872 Scottsville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42104.
