Mary Elizabeth Croslin, 77, of Alvaton, died Friday, March 1, 2013, at Hospice House.

She was born in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn. on Oct. 26, 1935, a daughter of the late Winburn P. and Roxie Bell Purcell Humphrey. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Croslin was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Wright “Buddy” Croslin; her sisters, Bonnie Humphrey and Betty Lacy, and her great-grandchildren, Bailey Fletcher and Isiah Vincent.

Mrs. Croslin was retired from Union Underwear Co. after working 33 years. She was a member of Burton Memorial Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 4 at 11 a.m. at J. C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel. Burial followed in the Burton Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation began at the funeral home Sunday, March 3 from 2-8 p.m.

She is survived by her daughters, Tara Gibbs (Larry) of Alvaton and Judy Jones (Marty) of Bowling Green; her sons, Hugh Porter Croslin (Sissy) and James “Doc” Corslin (Carol), both of Scottsville and Charles “Eddie” Croslin (companion Pat Napier) of Bowling Green; her sisters, Inez Summers (Benny) of Auburn, Bobbie Lay (Stanley), Alice Pillow (Jerry), Patsy Hudson (Speedy), all of Bowling Green and JoAnn Abernathy (Tommy) of Atlanta, Ga.; her brothers, Charles Humphrey, Gerald Humphrey (Bonnie), Donald Humphrey (Sue), Kenneth Humphrey, Larry Humphrey (Patti), and Benny Humphrey (Donna), all of Bowling Green; her grandchildren, Tracy Burckhard (Chris) and Larry (LJ) Gibbs (Shannon), both of Bowling Green, Jami Foster of Scottsville, Melissa Fletcher (Brian) of Columbia, Stephanie Axford, Jamie Lynn Davidson and Tasha Whaley, all of Sparta, Tenn. and Tierra Vincent (Matthew) of Brownsville; 16 great-grandchildren; her step-grandchildren, Matt Napier of Bowling Green, Tammy Valdez (Jesse) of Marysville, Wash., Scotty Gibbs (Deanna) and Samuel Jones, both of Bowling Green, Ryan Gibbs (Melissa) of Oakland and Tammy Perkins (Eric) of Concord, N.C., and several nieces and nephews.
