Bennie Ray Dukes, 75, of Lewisburg, died Monday, February 25, 2013, at 4:35 p.m. at Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green.

Mr. Dukes was born March 17, 1937, in Muhlenberg County.

He was employed with UMWA Local #1605 beginning in 1970, later becoming President for that local. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Bevier, KY, American Legion, Central City Masonic Lodge, and Shriner’s Rizpah Temple.

He was preceded in death by his late wife, Judith Kaye Dukes; former spouse, Mary Howard Dukes; daughter Carole Hamilton; parents George and Virginia Belle Dukes; sisters Margie Erwin, Dorothy Hawkins, and Isabelle Camplin; and brothers George Y. Dukes, Lewis B. Dukes, Connis Dukes, Othel Dukes, Jackie Dukes, and Lloyd Dukes.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 1, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Curtis McGehee officiating, assisted by Cecil Roberts. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday after 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Masonic services will be Thursday at 8 p.m.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Bedel Dukes; daughters Brenda Gayle Lewis of Dallas, TX, Melissa Dukes of Greenville, and Jessica Embery Smith of Central City; son Kenneth Ray Dukes of Miami, FL; grandchildren Amanda Barb, Shane Puerto, Ray Dukes, Raven Dukes, Trey Lewis, Ken Dukes Jr., Jeremy Dukes, Bennie Dukes, Marissa Tarrants, and Max Smith; brothers Billie (Juanita) Dukes, Robert (Mary) Dukes, and Jimmy Dale (Delores) Dukes; sister-in-laws Lois Dukes, Shirley Dukes, Flo Dukes, Patsy Dukes, Jennifer Bedel, Amy Bedel, and Barbara (George) Monte de Oca; brother-in-laws David (Erica) Bedel and Cliff Erwin; and in-laws Alvin and Sandy Bedel.
