Luther Sidney Tanner Sr., 75, of Schley Road, Adairville, died Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Logan Memorial Hospital in Russellville.

He was a Logan County native, born February 8, 1938, to the late James Garner Tanner and Ruby Morgan Tanner. He was a farmer and a member of the Whippoorwill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jean Sircy Tanner and brother, Larry Tanner.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 .a.m on Monday, February 18, 2013, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Brad Rogers and Bro. Tom Lawhon officiating with burial in the Whippoorwill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home was held from 5-8 p.m., Sunday, February 17, 2013, and after 8 a.m. Monday, until the funeral hour.

Pallbearers were Brandon E. Tanner, Derrick Scott, Trent Stamps, Landon Walker, Don Halcomb and John Kees.

He was survived by his son, Luther Sidney Tanner Jr.; daughter, Tammeria Tanner Ramsey (Keith); grandchildren, Brandon Elisha Tanner (Shannon), Keshia Ramsey Stamps (Trent) and Samantha Tanner Scott (Derrick); eight great grandchildren; and devoted friend, Margaret Palmer.
