James Shelton, 43, of Elkton, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at his home.

He was born in Muhlenberg County on Jan, 7, 1970, a son of Larry and Linda Bivins Shelton of Elkton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Shelton.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with Brother Jerry Sweeney officiating. Burial followed in the Landmark Church Cemetery in Muhlenberg County. Visitation began at the funeral home Sunday, Feb. 10 from 5-8 p.m.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Shelton is survived by his sons, Frank Shelton and Bruce Lee Johnson, both of Hopkinsville; his daughters, Tiffaney Powell of Hopkinsville and Mason Shelton of Guthrie; his brothers, Terry Don Lear and Scott Shelton, both of Elkton, Larry Keith Shelton of Crofton and Ethan Barber of Greensboro, S.C.; his sisters, Teresa Cannon, Stacie Shelton and Angela Shelton, all of Elkton and Tina Meece, Mable Meece and Patricia Shelton, all of Hopkinsville, and two grandchildren.
