Sybil Shumake, 81, of Hicks Street in Russellville, died Monday, November 12, 2012, at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.

She was a Muhlenberg County native, born August 1, 1931 to the late Bernard Bryant and Anna Wells Bryant.

She was a homemaker and a member of the old Cave Spring Baptist Church in Olmstead. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Shumake and grandson, Timothy Randall Shumake.

Cremation was chosen. Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her husband, Elbert D. Shumake, son, Jerry Wayne Shumake of Sharon Grove; daughters, Sherry Dulworth of Russellville; Charlotte Simpson of Olmstead and Gwendolyne Cruz of Russellville; brothers, Jimmy Bryant of Elkton and Darrell Bryant of Russellville; sisters, Elizabeth Scott of Russellville and Margaret Blankenship of Elkton; 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
