David Ray Summers, 62, of Auburn, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at his home.

He was born in Logan County Oct. 26, 1949, a son of the late Ray and Iola Christine Hayes Summers.

Mr. Summers was a Vietnam Navy veteran, farmer, owner of S and S Mowing and a member of the New Friendship Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 26 at 11 a.m. at the Young Funeral Home Auburn Chapel with Reverend Grant Minton officiating. Visitation began Thursday, Oct. 25 from 5-8 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 26 from 8-11 a.m.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Shelton Summers; his son, Travis Summers of Auburn; his brother, Mark Summers of Auburn; his grandson, Cameron Ray Summers; his sister-in-law, Connie Shifflett and Richard of Russellville, and his brother-in-law, Keith Shelton and Shannon of Auburn.
