Janie Schutt, 59, of Elkton, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at her home.

She was born in Elkton Sept. 16, 1953, a daughter of Ora Spurlin Johnson and the late Granville Johnson. In addition to her father, Mrs. Schutt was preceded in death by her husband, Herman in 2012 and her sister, Josephine Heflin.

Mrs. Schutt was a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 20 at 1 p.m. in the Rose Chapel of Todd County Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Dukes and Reverend Butch Nash officiating. Burial followed at Stokes Chapel Cemetery.

In addition to her mother, Mrs. Schutt is survived by her sons, Wade Schutt, Derric Schutt, Brian Schutt, Adam Schutt and Justin Schutt, all of Elkton and Jason Schutt of Auburn; her daughters, Jessica Mayes of Elkton and Misty Sowell of Bowling Green; her brother, Virgil Johnson of Elkton; her sister, Pauline Oliver of Elkton, and 16 grandchildren.
