Moses William Gaines, 90, of Russellville, died, May 22, 2012, at Auburn Health Care.
He was born in Logan County Dec. 1, 1921, a son of the late Raymond Gaines and the late Masella Stevenson Gaines.
Mr. Gaines was a member of First Baptist Church, was a deacon, taught Sunday school, was the church custodian and treasurer. He was a foreman at the Coca Cola Plant. He was a United States Navy veteran.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 29 at 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church with Reverend Sammy Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin Monday, May 28 from 5-7 p.m. at the church. Masonic Rites will beheld Monday, May 28 from 6-7 p.m. at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Ida Mae Gaines of Russellville; his son, Moses Gaines Jr. and wife Rose of Indianapolis, Ind.; his daughter, Marilyn Elizabeth Gaines of Detroit, Mich.; seven grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
