East Logan Water receives community relations award

On Wednesday, August 25, 2010, Kentucky Rural Water Association (KRWA) presented Community Relations Awards to several deserving utilities during KRWA's 31st Annual Conference and Exhibition. The theme for this year's event was "A Beacon of Light". Nearly 700 utility professionals gathered in Louisville, Kentucky at the Galt House Hotel & Suites to hear presentations from industry experts, network with peers, and tour Kentucky's largest exhibition of products and services available to public water and wastewater utilities.

East Logan Water District was recognized for their outstanding contributions in customer and public relations through outreach, education and leadership. Jana Hanks, Office Manager and Public Relations of East Logan Water District in Auburn receives the recognition from Mr. Gary Larimore, Executive Director of Kentucky Rural Water Association. Other utilities included Louisville Water Company and Warren, Butler & Simpson County Water Districts.

The Kentucky Rural Water Association is a non-profit association that provides training, on-site technical assistance, advocacy, and other vital services to over 375 member public water and wastewater utilities in Kentucky. Headquartered in Bowling Green, KRWA has been "helping water and wastewater utilities help themselves" since 1979.
