On Saturday, August 14 the Auburn Tourism Commission had a grand opening of their new welcome center at 102 W. Main Street in Auburn. This is the former site of the Yard Sale Shop. The rent on the building is donated by Auburn citizen, Carroll Browning. Bill McFarland, Auburn Tourism treasurer, will operate the welcome center Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Visitors will be able to pick up information about Auburn merchants, restaurants, entertainment, and museums. There will be complimentary coffee and a community bulletin board for people to post items and services needed or for sale.

Auburn Tourism chairperson Jo Orange said she is excited that Auburn now has a Welcome Center and she believes the center will offer another friendly, helpful face to visitors and residents alike.
