JAKES Day held in south Logan

The Logan/Todd Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation held its annual JAKES Day event for children up to 17 years old on August 14th. The event, held at the Red River Fish and Game Club in Adairville, hosted 38 children participating in trap shooting, BB Gun contest, turkey calling, archery, fishing contest, and firearms safety. The following children took home awards:

Ages 0-5

Archery: Andrew Duncan - 1st, Aiden Rust - 2nd, Jacob Campbell-3rd; Fishing: Andrew Nason - Smallest Fish, Aiden Rust - Biggest Fish, Andrew Duncan - Most fish; Turkey Call: Logan Gidcumb-1st, Josh Robertson-2nd, Andrew Duncan - 3rd; BB Gun - Hayden Gidcumb-1st, Andrew Nason-2nd, Logan Gidcumb-3rd

Ages 6-9:

Archery: Briar Webb-1st, Tristan Blake-2nd, Ethan Paul-3rd; Fishing: Wyatt Blake - Smallest Fish, Jacob Moore-Biggest and Most Fish; Turkey Call: Briar Webb-1st, Jacob Moore-2nd, Matthew Nason-3rd; BB Gun: Alex Walpole-1st, Tristan Blake -2nd, Briar Webb-3rd

Ages 10-13

Archery: Will Robey-1st, Alex Hughes-2nd, Jordan Campbell-3rd, Fishing: Dakota Hardin-smallest fish, Seth Cole-biggest fish, Katie Paul and Connor Clark tied for most fish; Turkey Call: Matthew Garner-1st, Katie Paul-2nd, Nathanelle Creek-3rd; BB Gun: Dakota Hardin-1st, Katie Paul-2nd, Trap Shoot: Jackson Allen-1st, Daniel Walker-2nd, Will Robey-3rd

Ages 14-17

Archery: Brett Martin-1st, Lucas Dean-2nd, Fishing: Brett Martin-smallest fish and most fish, Lucas Dean- biggest fish; Turkey Call: Brett Martin-1st, Lucas Dean-2nd, Trap Shoot: Brett Martin-1st, Kimberly Baugh-2nd, Lucas Dean-3rd
