Turf goes in on softball field

Installation of artificial turf began Friday on the softball field in Russellville's new sports complex located on Armory Drive.

The softball field as well as one soccer field will have turf. The second soccer field is on hold due to lack of funds to complete it.

The city received a $1.5 million gift from the state from a settlement between the state and Rockwell, a long serving industry in Russellville who improperly disposed of Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs).
