The Logan County Sheriff’s Department made a methamphetamine related arrest on Tuesday, July 6.

Early Tuesday morning, K-9 Deputy Clinton Wright conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Michael A. Martin, 29 of Alvaton.

Wright had received information that a the vehicle driven by Martin was seen at the Allensville Crop Service and was possibly attempting to steal anhydrous ammonia.

Upon investigation, it was found that Martin was wanted in Warren County for a parole violation on several methamphetamine related charges. A search of Martin’s vehicle turned up an altered tank containing anhydrous ammonia (one of the key ingredients in making meth), along with an altered hose and funnel.

Martin was then arrested and lodged in the Logan County Detention Center on charges of knowingly and unlawfully possessing anhydrous ammonia with the intent to manufacture meth, second offense. Wright was assisted by Logan County deputy Laura Hadden, the Guthrie Police Department and the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force.
