A Bowling Green man lost his life in Logan County Monday morning after hitting a horse on Highway 68-80 between Auburn and Russellville.

Mark Anthony Hester, 51, was traveling west on a motorcycle at approximately 4:35 a.m. before daylight when he struck the horse which was in the road.

According to Logan County Sheriff’s Deputy Larry Christy, the horse had gotten loose and was wandering in the roadway and he doubted that Mr. Hester saw it in time to avoid hitting it.

After striking the horse, which was also killed, Hester lost control of his motorcycle and struck a guardrail at which time he was ejected.

The accident is being investigated by deputy Clint Wright of the sheriff’s department.
