Summer Camp - Those words create images in our minds. Sunshine, fun classes, outdoors, swimming lessons, rock climbing, rappelling, horse-back riding, craft classes... fun in the sun, learning by doing.

Each year, the 4-H program offers several opportunities for Logan County youth to participate in camping activities -- fall and spring Teen Retreats; Health Camp, Leadership Days, Horse Camp, and of course the largest, 4-H Summer Camp.

Perhaps you were a participant in your youth. Maybe you wanted to participate, but funding was a problem. Today’s youth need these same fun, educational, hands-on learning experiences. You can help.

The Logan County 4-H Council needs your support. The cost of sending a Logan County youth to 4-H Summer Camp this year is $160. With our loss of jobs in Logan County, the number of youth who are applying for financial assistance is up more than 300 percent. Will you help out?

By providing limited resource youth a partial scholarship, we make it possible for the youth to participate while they still maintain the feeling that they are contributing.

Will you support the youth of your community and the 4-H program by submitting your donation to the Logan County 4-H Council and help put a smile on a child's face? Your support is needed today and any monetary donation is greatly appreciated. All donations are tax deductible. You may also want to volunteer as an adult leader this year at camp. As an adult leader you’ll attend camp free of charge and get to experience being a leader and mentor to over 300 youth while at summer camp!

Call the Extension Office at 726-6323 to make donation arrangements or if you have questions about giving or volunteering!
