Poore’s Nursery & Farms of Logan County is one of 108 markets across the Commonwealth that is a member of the 2010 Kentucky Farm Bureau Certified Roadside Farm Market Program.

In joining the Kentucky Farm Bureau Certified Roadside Farm Market Program, Poore’s Nursery & Farms has committed to offering quality products and service to their customers. Its acceptance by Farm Bureau as a Certified Roadside Market tells customers that Poore’s Nursery & Farms meets the highest standards of quality, freshness, and marketing appeal.

Poore’s Nursery & Farm sells a variety of fruits, vegetables, and other farm fresh produce from April to October at the market on Morgantown Road in Russellville.

“The Certified Roadside Farm Market Program further educates consumers on the importance of locally grown and produced products,” said Mark Haney, president of Kentucky Farm Bureau. “As the demand for local products continues to increase, we are excited to have a record number of markets participating in this program, which is helping create new opportunities for Kentucky producers and consumers.”

Brochures that list all of the Certified Roadside Markets across the state are available at Kentucky welcome centers, State Resort Parks, local chambers of commerce/tourism centers or county Farm Bureau offices. Consumers can also go to the 2010 Certified Roadside Farm Market website for a complete list of markets: kyfb.com/roadside.
