Lewisburg has been without a principal since November, when former principal Barrett Nelson resigned suddenly. Logan County Schools associate superintendent Janet Hurt has been serving as acting principal since then.
Superintendent Marshall Kemp said the search went well and he is pleased with the outcome.
Kemp explained that the Lewisburg School Site-Based Decision-Making Council set the criteria for choosing a new principal.
“There were 16 applicants,” Kemp said. “Nine passed the screening and there were two that really fit the criteria.”
“They had some good candidates,” he added.
