The council also decided to surplus an old 600,000 gallon water tank located at the park. According to Mayor Zick the old tank never really worked well to his understanding and suffered engineering problems as well as leaking. Zick said the city won't get very much money for selling it but it will increase the area safety surrounding the tank.
Candidates need to remember if they are going to place political signs on city property they first need to purchase a permit through the city to do so and also use judgment on where they place the signs.
Councilman Russell Jones noted that it was uncouth to place a sign in the cemetery.
One thousand Paddle Fish have been placed in Lake Herndon (Boy Scout Lake) reported Mayor Zick. The fish were a controversial topic a couple of years ago when the mayor wanted to allow a company to put the fish in Spa Lake. The city of Lewisburg stopped that idea as they are part owner of Spa Lake so the idea transfered to Lake Herndon.
