The Christos: Passion Drama of Christ

Second Baptist Church in Russellville presents a story of unconditional love and ultimate sacrifice, The Christos: Passion Drama of Christ, today, Friday, March 26 and Saturday, March 27 at 7 p.m. each night. Auburn Girls Fast Pitch Softball sign-ups

Registration for the Auburn Girls Fastpitch Softball League will be held today and again on April 3 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the East Logan Water District at the end of Auburn. The league is for ages 5 through 14. Please bring with you a copy of your child’s birth certificate and insurance card. Your child must be 5 by June 1st to play in the league. Cost for the league is $35.

Wild Beast Feast

The annual Wild Beast Feast sponsored by the Christian Bowhunters of Kentucky will be today at Crossroads Church in Russellville, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Prior to the meal, there will be a wild turkey calling contest at 4 p.m. The dinner costs $10 for adults while children 10 and under eating free. The turkey calling contest is also $10 for adults and $7 for children. There will also be door prizes and a grand prize drawing for a guided deer hunt. 14th Annual Logan County Easter Egg Hunt

The 14th Annual Logan County Easter Egg Hunt is today with games and activities at 1:30 p.m. and the Hunt at 2 p.m. Age categories are 0-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, and 9-10. Prizes awarded in each age category. No fee to participate. For more information, contact the Chamber or Russellville Parks and Recreation.

Auction and Chili Supper for New Hope

New Hope Church will hold an auction and chili supper today at 6 p.m. at the Lewisburg School with proceeds going to the building fund. Special singing will be by New Life. Come enjoy good food and singing and help build a church.

Adairville Easter Egg Hunt

Bring your Easter basket and come out to the Adairville City Park today at 10 a.m. for the Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the Adairville Family Resource Center. There will be a $50 first place egg and a $25 second place egg along with 2,000 eggs filled with prizes and candy. Children will be divvied by age. War of the Roses

Bread of Life Ministries will be sponsoring their second annual War of the Roses today at 3 p.m. at the KP Hall. This program is the culmination of a month-long fundraising effort. Proceeds will go toward their pastor, Rev. Phillip Washington’s anniversary which they will celebrate in May. The Leavell Family will be the musical guests. Refreshments will be served.

Willing Workers Day at Marriah Grove

Marriah Grove Baptist Church will observe their annual Willing Workers Day today. The afternoon guest will be Rev. Jeff Williams and Pleasant View Baptist Church from Smiths Grove.

Dumpster for R’ville residents

The Code Enforcement Board of the City of Russellville will be setting up a Dumpster for city residents today through April 3 at the City Street Department at 345 West 2nd Street. Proof of residency must be provided by presenting a water bill receipt. Most all items will be accepted with the exception of tires, batteries, paint or any toxic materials. Please check with the street department if you have any questions about what will be accepted.

Property Tax Collection

The 2009 Property Tax Collection is coming to an end. All tax bills that are not paid will be given to the Logan County Clerk on April 15. To avoid extra penalties and interest, pay taxes before April 15 at the Logan County Sheriff’s Department.

Child Abuse Prevention Month

Please join the community today to support Child Abuse Prevention Month at 11:30 a.m. at the old Logan County Courthouse to demonstrate your support for the children of Logan County. There will be a proclamation reading along with blue ribbons and pinwheels displayed representing the total number of children reported to have been abused and neglected and the number of substantiated cases of abuse and neglect.

Good Friday Service at UMT

The Logan County Ministerial Association is sponsoring a Good Friday Service today at noon at the United Methodist Temple. The service will last about 45 minutes. Everyone is invited, come as you are.

Good Friday Service at Mt. Pleasant

Everyone is invited to a Good Friday Service at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Lewisburg today at 7 p.m. Leading the service will be a combined Community Choir of 50 voices singing the Easter musical “I Know My Redeemer Lives.” Bro. Art Hatfield, pastor of Elk Lick Baptist Church, will lead a devotional on the significance of the Cross in our lives.

Relay For Life event

Stuart Chapel will be having a cook out/ bake sale at Wal Mart today beginning at 9 a.m. There will have hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks and sweets, which will include individual items along with whole pies and cakes to use for your Easter Dinner. All proceeds will go toward the Logan County Relay For Life.

Two services at New Friendship

Beginning today, Easter Sunday, New Friendship Baptist Church in Auburn will have two morning services, one at 8:30 a.m. and one at 11 a.m. Sunday school will be at 10 a.m. These services will be held each Sunday from now on.

Introduction to Computers

Paula Scarbrough will be teaching an Introduction to Computers class today through May 3 from 6-8 p.m. each Monday evening at Logan County High School, Freshmen Academy computer lab, room 226, entrance #6. The cost is $40. Call 726-8405 to register.
