Logan County native Mary Elizabeth Allen, 91

Mary Elizabeth Allen, 91, of Franklin, died Sunday, March 14, 2010 at the Medical Center in Franklin.

She was born in Logan County, a daughter of the late William Anson Turner and the late Nettie Grace Wooden Turner. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, James Waverly “J.W.” Allen; her son, William Earl “Billy” Allen; her brothers, James, Albert and Willie Mac Turner and her sisters, Beatrice Malone, Eunice Turner and Drusy Hester.

Mrs. Allen was a member of the Franklin Church of Christ, was a homemaker and retired from Riley White Drug Store and sold Avon.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 17 at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Sulphur Spring Cemetery.

She is survived by her sons, Bobby E. Allen and wife Christine of Russellville and Willard Allen and wife Pat of Franklin; his grandchildren, Keith, Craig, Will, Corey, Eric and Bob Allen, Muffin Farese and Samantha Courtney, and 18 great-grandchildren.
