Marie Foley, of the Auburn Historical Society, said they were making plans for events this year and decided an art exhibit would be a good idea.
Artists with art on display will be Clara Nell Harper, Linda Douglas, Shelby Troggett, John Sheffield, Fran Hunt, Allison and Frank Lyne, Jim C.M. Berry and Bell Wylie.
Foley said they also got some the schools involved. Art teachers Brenda Brown of Russellville High, Martha Mounts of Logan County High, Vivian Johnson of Auburn and Georgia Bryson of Adairville and their students will have works in the exhibit.
Some of the art on display will be for sale.
“We hope to have a good crowd,” Foley said.
The art exhibit will be Saturday, March 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Auburn Museum on Main Street. The exhibit will also be in the Auburn Library located in front of the museum.
Foley said they decided to have the exhibit on March 6 to coincide with the Maple Syrup Festival going on at Federal Grove March 5 through 7.
“We hope a lot of the visitors that will be at Federal Grove will come on down to the art show,” Foley said.
Admission to the exhibit will be $5 and this includes a tour of the museum and historical village.
