According to a sheriff’s department report, Charles D. “Lano” Boyd of Carter Road reported that he was gone from his residence over night on December 31 and when he returned he discovered his home had been broken into. The back door window had been broken to gain entry into the house. Boyd told police that someone had stolen his 50-inch Sanyo HD TV, a 42-inch Vizio HD TV and an X-Box 360. Boyd later discovered that a necklace, watch and ring were also missing.
Deputy Larry Christie is investigating the incident and anyone with information on the case is encouraged to contact Christie or the sheriff’s department at 726-2244.
In addition to this home burglary, Auburn Police Chief Scott Harmon said four cars were broken into in the early morning hours of New Year’s Eve.
Harmon said various items were taken out of the cars, including two sets of golf clubs.
Harmon said the suspects were probably trading the items they stole to get drugs or to get money for drugs. He is still investigating these break-ins.
