It’s only about a month until Thanksgiving and organizers of the Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner are in the midst of making sure they’ll be able to serve the estimated 350 or more meals they plan to that day.

To make that possible they need a lot of help from the community. Organizer Tammy Danner said they still need a lot of help and are having another planning meeting this Friday, Oct. 23, at 5:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 159 W. 6th Street in Russellville.

Though the dinner is held at the church it truly is a community event, Danner said. People from many other churches and organizations take part and it takes everyone working together to pull it off. Volunteers are needed for many things including cooking, greeting, serving, and taking meals to people in their homes.

To find out more about how you can help, call Danner at 725-9124 or Cheryl Duke, pastor of First Presbyterian, at 726-6207.
