Joanna Elizabeth Howerton and William Allen Stevens were married June 13, 2009, at Stanford Baptist Church in Stanford, Kentucky. The Rev. Max Hester officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Martin Howerton, III of Stanford. She is a 2005 graduate of Lincoln County High School and earned a Bachelors of Arts in Secondary Mathematics Education from the University of Kentucky in 2009. She is currently in graduate school at the University of Kentucky. The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hildabrand of Russellville, Kentucky, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Howerton, Jr. of Finchville, Kentucky, and the late Mrs. Betty Howerton.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kent Stevens of Lancaster, Kentucky. He is a 2005 graduate of Garrard County High School and earned a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Kentucky in 2009. He is currently a graduate student at the University of Kentucky. The groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Allen Denny of Lancaster, Kentucky, and the late Mr. and Mrs.William David Stevens, Jr.

Miss Stephanie Howerton of Stanford, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Miss Jenna Gover of Stanford, Miss Jessica Job of Cincinnati, and Miss Ellie Hildabrand of Brentwood, Tenn., served as bridesmaids. Miss Emily Parsley of Bowling Green served as guestbook attendant.

Mr. Drew Stevens of Lancaster, brother of the groom, served as the best man. Mr. Ryan Hulett of Lancaster, Mr. Micah Wade of Lancaster, and Mr. Eddie Marcellino of Louisville were groomsmen. Mr. Tim Riley of Lexington, Kentucky and Mr. Eric Rogier of Lexington, Kentucky were ushers.

Sean Lair, Stuart Underwood, and Jone Anderson provided the music. Colette May served as the wedding coordinator.

The reception was held at the Stanford Baptist Church Christian Life Center immediately following the ceremony.

After a honeymoon to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple resides in Lexington.
