Shane J. Angell, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the Logan County Sheriff's report, Angell was riding a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle on Franklin Road (Hwy. 100) about six miles outside of Russellville when he collided head on with a 2000 GMC Yukon SUV driven by Jose S. Rodriguez Cruz of Russellville. Excessive speed by the motorcycle was determined to be a major factor in the accident.
The accident is being investigated by Sgt. David Kitchens who was assisted at the scene by Sheriff Wallace Whittaker and Deputies Larry Jones, Jim Ray and Clinton Wright.
