The Logan County Sheriff’s Department was called and sent several officers to the scene after a very large active meth lab was discovered.
Deputy Clint Wright used his canine in the search and lost the trail around Gasper River. The South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force was called to dismantle the lab and do the cleanup, which took approximately six hours by three agents and the director.
The men appeared to have been at the barn for several days because of the large amount of meth trash left behind. Full Anhydrous Ammonia tanks in improper containers were vented and released.
This is the third large meth lab destroyed on the Gasper River Road. Arrests were made in the other two cases.
Evidence collected at the scene will most likely reveal the suspect’s names and arrests are likely forthcoming.
This case is still under investigation by the Logan County Sheriff’s Department and the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force.
Also assisting were the Auburn Fire Department and the EMS Ambulance Service.
