The Logan County Farm Bureau Federation recently held their summer picnic at the Russellville Park. Several elected officials or their representatives were in attendance. This annual event gives Farm Bureau an opportunity to express their appreciation to those who hold office for the work they do on behalf of farmers.

Special guest this year were: State Representative Martha Jane King; Hon. Sue Carol Browning, Chief District Judge, Logan & Todd Counties; Judge Executive Logan Chick; Magistrate Thomas Bouldin; Magistrate Jo Orange; Magistrate Curtis Watkins; Circuit Court Clerk Sherry Wilkins; Bill Fandrich and Whitney Meadows, Agriculture Coordinators representing U.S. Senator Jim Bunning.

Following the meal Pres. Daniel Gaston conducted the regular Farm Bureau business meeting. The 2009 Safety Day was a great success. Nine Logan County Young Farmers attended the Summer Outing. They enjoyed tours of several different farms including Jeremy Robertson's who is a Logan County Farm Bureau Board Member. August 27, 2009 is Farm Bureau Day at the Kentucky State Fair.
