USDA has extended the acreage reporting dates for final crop reporting to August 14, 2009, for all other crops, except small grain and value loss crops. Producers are reminded that requirements must be met prior to receiving program benefits. Late fees will not be applied if acreage reports are filed by August 14 and all other reporting requirements are met.

This final date also applies to DCP (direct and counter cyclical program) exception: crops insured through NAP must report the earlier of: 15 calendar days before the onset of Harvest or Grazing, or August 14, 2009. Losses and/or damages to crops must be reported after each disaster occurrence and in a timely manner to insure continued eligibility for benefits.

Filing an accurate acreage report for all crops and land uses, including failed acreage and prevented planting acreage, can prevent the loss of benefits for a variety of programs. Producers are encouraged to contact their local Service Center for additional information.
