In honor of Kentucky 4-H’s Centennial, Cloverville will buzz with excitement with new and special events during this year’s Kentucky State Fair. Two of those events include recognition of 4-H Centennial Hall of Fame members and the 4-H Centennial Vintage Fashion Show.

Kentucky 4-H will recognize the 120 Centennial Hall of Fame members during a special commemorative ceremony at 2 p.m. Aug. 23 in Cloverville. Members of the 4-H Centennial Hall of Fame are individuals who have tirelessly volunteered countless hours over the years to 4-H at the local, state and national levels. Each county selected one person to honor as their Centennial Hall of Fame recipient. Centennial Hall of Fame members were announced in February at 4-H’s 100th birthday bash in Lexington.

Immediately following the Centennial Hall of Fame presentation, current and former 4-H’ers will stroll down memory lane as they model past and present 4-H clothing projects during the 4-H Vintage Fashion Show on the center stage in Cloverville.

The fashion show has four categories in which participants can enter. These categories are vintage 4-H uniforms, vintage outfits worn by a 4-H volunteer or member in the past 100 years, former and current 4-H’ers modeling this year’s clothing project, and vintage projects made by past 4-H members. The vintage projects can be modeled by a single person or a group, such as a daughter, mother and grandmother.

The Vintage Fashion Show is non-competitive, but all participants will receive a Commemorative Centennial Participation ribbon.

You can pick up fashion show entry applications from your local Cooperative Extension office. All participants must arrive at Cloverville by 2:30 p.m. on the day of the show to be placed in the line-up.
