We’ve had another great year at the Auburn Bluegrass Festival. There were some changes made, but it still worked out fine for us old timers at the yearly event. We love meeting our camping friends again, and the jammin’ and sing-alongs are one of the highlights of this festival week. Also getting to meet Kenny Stinson, the promoter of this year’s event. He brought in some great bands for us to enjoy on Friday and Saturday and with his fun personality, you’ve got to love him and all his craziness. With Otis’s help of getting the campers lined up and calmed down, he had his hands full and did a good job. With the Auburn mayor backing this event and going along with some complaints, he also had a full plate. He’s got to be a pretty nice, agreeable guy. Well, I don’t know about the pretty cause I didn’t get to meet him although I wanted to Maybe next year, the good Lord willing us to be there, we’ll get to shake hands. I hope the problem with the ducks won’t cause him to resign. Some of us loved the ducks, some didn’t. I can enjoy them for one week a year and did. It would be bad for the children and people of Auburn who love them to let them go. I saw many people enjoying watching the ducks during the week. I also loved hearing the rooster crow. I’m just country way down deep.
We all took our chances with such a discouraging weather forecast, but as well all know it nearly always rains on a Bluegrass festival, so bring your umbrella and enjoy.
So we give thanks for another good time, good weather, good music, with good friends at the Auburn Bluegrass Festival.
Here’s a thumbs up to you Kenny Stinson to keep things going, I know a lot of people are standing behind you, even RoHo the rooster. We’re looking forward to another good year.
