The Cougars got to play their game Thursday against Warren Central at the brand new Bowling Green Ballpark, which is the home of the minor league Bowling Green Hot Rods baseball team.
The Cougars got to play in the professional stadium after selling several tickets to Hot Rods’ games earlier this year.
And while the players themselves got a thrill from getting to perform in a big-time atmosphere, the result didn’t turn out in Logan County’s favor.
Warren Central won the game 10-2, avenging an earlier loss to the Cougars.
LCHS had beaten Warren Central 15-9 at home on April 30.
That wasn’t the final game of the week for Logan, though.
The Cougars came back on Saturday and picked up a 5-0 win at Edmonson County.
This is the last week of the regular season and Logan County has several games scheduled to tune up for next week’s District 13 Tournament, which will be held at Russellville’s Kelly Russell Field.
Logan County was scheduled to play Warren East at home on Monday and have Greenwood tonight in Bowling Green. Thursday is a home game against Allen County-Scottsville, while the regular season is scheduled to end on Friday at Bowling Green High School.
On the same night that Logan County played in the Hot Rods’ stadium, the Russellville baseball team was also playing in Bowling Green.
The Panthers fell 10-0 at BGHS.
Russellville has home games scheduled with two more Bowling Green schools this week. Greenwood was scheduled to play at RHS on Monday and Warren Central is scheduled for Thursday.
Russellville also plays at Butler County tonight and wraps up the regular season at home Friday against Trigg County.
