The Logan County High School girls softball team got a scare Tuesday night against rival Russellville.

The Lady Cougars found themselves down 3-0 after three innings against winless Russellville.

But Logan County rallied and came back to win the game 9-3 – thanks in part of a home run from Sheena Bilicki.

After a rocky start to the season, the Lady Cougars have thrived against District 13 competition of late.

Despite having some games rained out, Logan County has now won three in a row against district foes – including Tuesday’s win over Russellville.

The Lady Cougars will have a chance to improve their record to 4-3 tonight when they play at Butler County tonight.

Logan County then plays another District 13 contest Tuesday at Todd County Central.

After falling to Logan County on Tuesday, the Lady Panthers dropped a 13-6 decision to Franklin-Simpson on Wednesday.

While Russellville (0-10) is still searching for its first victory, the Lady Panthers are making some strides in the right direction.

After scoring just five runs through their first first eight games, the Lady Panthers have pushed nine across the plate in their last two contests.

Tonight, Russellville will take on Glasgow in the first round of the All ‘A’ Classic Fourth Region Tournament.

The Russellville High School baseball team has already wrapped up its Fourth Region All ‘A’ Classic title.

The Panthers knocked off Monroe County and Cumberland County last weekend to advance to the state tournament for small schools.

RHS will take on Murray on Saturday in the state All ‘A’ but before that, the Panthers had a district game with Todd County Central that didn’t go too well.

The Panthers fell 12-1 in just five innings against the Rebels on Wednesday.

The loss snapped a four game winning streak that dated back to Russellville’s 9-2 win over Logan County.

The Panthers have one more tuneup before their appearance in the state tournament. They are scheduled to play at Caverna tonight.

The Logan County baseball team didn’t have much more during its Wednesday District 13 contest.

The Cougars stayed close with Franklin-Simpson for most of their game, but the Wildcats then pulled away for an 11-1 victory.

The loss dropped Logan County to 2-8 overall.

The Cougars have three home games this weekend. They host Butler County tonight and then play both Grayson County and Kentucky Country Day on Saturday.
