Each year, our freshman members are inducted, and then later may become qualified to receive the Greenhand Degree. The Greenhand Degree is made of bronze and is worn on the front, right-hand side of the FFA Jacket. It symbolizes growth, but also indicates that higher achievements are ahead, as they near the coveted gold of the FFA American Degree. To be eligible to receive the Greenhand FFA Degree from the chapter, a member must meet the following qualifications:

•Be enrolled in an agricultural education class and have satisfactory plans for a supervised agricultural experience program (SAE);

•Learn and explain the FFA Creed, motto, salute and FFA mission statement;

•Describe and explain the meaning of the FFA emblem and our colors;

•Demonstrate a knowledge of the FFA Code of Ethics and the proper use of the FFA Jacket;

•Demonstrate a knowledge of the history of the organization, the chapter constitution and bylaws and the chapter Program of Activities (POA);

•Personally own or have access to the Official FFA Manual and the FFA Student Handbook;

•Submit written application for the Greenhand FFA Degree.

There were a total of 26 members that received the Greenhand Degree. These members were: Leighann Ayres, Hunter Bevil, Emily Chambers, Matthew Cole, Seth Goodwin, Riley Griffin, Justin Holloway, Aaron Johnson, Zackary Johnson, Tracey Knuckles, Ciara Long, Jackson Pryor, Andrea Robinson, Barrett Rogers, Megan Scarbrough, Sarah Smith, Brandon Sowell, Caleb Speck, Tony Steenbergen, Emily Storm, Fischer Thurston, Kelsie Watkins, Kailee Williams and Amelia Wilson.

Our State Reporter, Ashley Castle, came to the ceremony to shake the members’ hands and celebrate their accomplishment with them.
