Greetings from The Antioch Community.
Sunday is our Homecoming day at Antioch Baptist Church. We will be celebrating the 195th Homecoming. Still Waters from Hopkinsville will be singing at 10 a.m. Preaching at 11 and then lunch will be served. You are invited to come and help us celebrate.
The Purple Martin Little Mr. and Miss contest will be June 3 at 6 p.m. at the Lewisburg City Complex. Applications can be picked up at the Lewisbug City Complex, Lewisburg School, Logan County Chamber of Commerce or Lewisburg Banking Company.
A group of 16 met on Thursday at the KFC restaurant and ate lunch together. We were celebrating five birthdays. Vanessa Price on the 11th, Dolores Harris 16th, Sylvia Clardy 17th, Odessa Johnson 18th and Plyllis Causey 22nd. Others attending were Ernie Beadnell, Anna Lou O’Neal, Betty Laster, Carolyn White, Karen Johnson, Myrtle Pogue, Irene White, Juanita Key, Melba Gibbs, Juley Nelson, Louise Henderson and our Pastor, Bro. Carmel Hoskins. We had good eats and a good time visiting together.
Team Kids program is over for the summer months while school is out. So Saturday they had a block party for the kids.
Rodney and Karen Johnson hosted a birthday party for his mom, Odessa Johnson on Saturday night. Odessa was celebrating her 91st birthday. There was 29 people present. They had a cook out as well as cake and ice cream. Everyone had a good time.
Graduating from Logan County High School are Brooke Thornberry and Dylan Givens from Antioch Baptist Church. McKayla Peterson from Todd County High School, Caleb Epley from Lincoln Tec Nashville, Tenn. and Christ Epley from Western Kentucky University. We wish much success for each one.
Our pastor had recognition of the graduates at church Sunday morning.
JGeania Hoskins did the special at church Sunday morning. It was really pretty.
Elkton Baptist Church hosted the Pastor/Staff/Spouse appreciation banquet Monday night. A big crowd was present. They had 101 there. They had a delicious meal which we enjoyed. We had 11 there from Antioch.
We were glad to see Bro. Allen Woodard, wife, daughter and his mother. Bro. Allen preached for us when we were without a pastor. We still love them.
I didn’t get to talk to Christine this morning. She was getting ready to go to the doctor. She thinks her leg is some better.
Dr. Larry Gotts was on Feedback on Tuesday morning. It’s always good to hear the good Doctor answer the questions that are called in. They always have an interesting program.
Joy comes from putting another’s welfare ahead of your own.
