Dear Editor:

I am not sure who Ronald B. Elder, M.D. is but he should have some knowledge of people and their reaction when confronted by hysteria and misinformation.

His letter to the editor on March 19, 2013, stated that many rounds of ammunition, drones and bomb resistant vehicles were purchased by Homeland Security and the government was trying to take away our guns! So what picture does this paint? How many people believe what you wrote? There should be a law against your type of negativity.

This is so far-fetched that its almost funny! After a through investigation, HLS did not purchase this ammunition, Social Security purchased these hollow points to be sent to them and other agencies over the next five years…Our police and many law enforcement agencies use hollow points..

there has been NO increase in the bomb resistant vehicles and drones… the military uses both, but we are not stockpiling.

The government is not trying to take away guns.. I hope they will pass a law requiring background checks for all gun purchases, and I hope assault weapons are banned.

Dr. Elder, you need to get a life, reach out and inspire people in a positive manner. God is in control and if you believe in Him, you aren’t afraid of the future!

It's reassuring to see there are still people that haven't given into the hysteria that is being used to whip people of the US into a frenzy. It saddens me that folks won't pause, step back and evaluate some of the sensationalism that powerful groups with hidden agendas are using.
