The Russellville Panther baseball team traveled to Bowling Green High School on Friday. The Panthers were coming off a big win of 17-6 over Caverna but did not have the same success against Bowling Green. The Panthers would fall 4-0 to the Purples.
The Panthers started off the game good, keeping the Purples from scoring but they were not able to make any big plays. The Purples added the first run to the scoreboard in the second inning putting the Panthers down 0-1.
The Panthers were able to hold off the Purples for several innings, including a double play earlier in the game, but the Panthers were not able to hold them off until the end.
At the bottom of the fifth, the Purples got a good hit and sent the ball far into the outfield. The Panthers could not get the ball in the infield in time, causing the Purples to get three runs, bringing the score to 4-0.The Panthers could not get any runs, so the game ended 4-0 to the Purples.
Tyler Hall pitched the entire game with eight strike outs and only six hits.
The Panthers will play Muhlenberg County tonight at home at 5:30.
