Robert McKinney “Jr.”, 88, of Quality, died Friday, March 15, 2013, at the Morgantown Care and Rehab Center in Morgantown.
Mr. McKinney was born in Butler County on Feb. 22, 1925, a son of to the late Robert McKinney Sr. and Edna Tyree McKinney. In addition to his parents, Mr. McKinney was preceded in death by his son, Joel McKinney and one his brother, Buddy McKinney.
Mr. McKinney was a member of Caney Fork Presbyterian Church and a Spec 4 World War II United States Army veteran. He was a machinist at Caldwell Leather in Auburn and Triple C Leather in Davis Crossroads.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 19 at 1 p.m. at Caney Fork Presbyterian Church with Brother Tom Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Caney Fork Cemetery. Visitation will begin Monday, March 18 from 2:30-8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home and Tuesday, March 19 from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.
He is survived by his wife of 64 1/2 years, Mary Hazel McKinney of Quality; his grandsons, John McKinney and wife Michele of Bowling Green and Keith McKinney of Elizabethtown; his great grandsons, Drake McKinney of Elizabethtown and Drew McKinney of Bowling Green; his granddaughter, Amber McKinney of Elizabethtown; his great-great-grandson, Mark Lee McKinney of Bowling Green; his sisters-in-law, Novella Evans and husband Deyoide of Quality and June McKinney of Auburn; his brother-in-law, Houston Lee of Avon, Ind., and his niece, Glenda Brewer and husband Darrell of Quality.
