Violet Brown, 56, of Elkton, died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Christian Heights Nursing Home in Pembroke.

She was in San Antonio, Texas on Oct. 31, 1956, a daughter of Martha Rosher Newman Stilley of Donnellson, Ill. and the late Mervin Stilley. In addition to her father, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her brother, Guy Stilley.

In addition to her mother, Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, Chris Brown of Elkton; her sons, Michael Masterman of Auburn and Chris Brown Jr. of Elkton; her daughter, Shannon Loring of Colorado Springs, Colo.; her brother, Marvin Stilley of Donnellson, Illinois; her sisters, Martha Lanthier of Port Huron, Mich., Nora Phelps of Donnellson, Ill., Marlene Stilley of Reno, Nev. and Mary Warren of Illinois; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 5 at 7 p.m. in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with Brother Shane Hessey officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation began at the funeral home Tuesday, March 7 from 6 p.m. until time of service.
