Clentie Fugate Jr., 91, of Bowling Green, died Thursday, February 28, 2013, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.

He was born in Logan County Jan. 29, 1922, a son of the late Clentie Sr. and Rosa Lee Turner Fugate Townsend. In addition to his parents, Mr. Fugate was preceded in death by his wife, Gabrella Drane Fugate and his son, Johnnie Fugate.

Mr. Fugate served in World War II in the United States Navy on the USS Magazine. He retired from Bilt Rite, Inc in 1985.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 3 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Russellville with the Reverend James Byers officiating. Burial followed in the Friendship Logan Cemetery in Auburn. Visitation began at the church Sunday, March 3 from 1-2 p.m. Gamble Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

He is survived by his sons, James Earl (Norene) Fugate and Gary Lee Fugate, both of Russellville, Mary Delores (William) Woodard of Russellville, Rose Marie (Randy) Sutton of Louisville and Jeanne Fugat of Houston, Texas; his grandchildren, Aaron, Adrian, Shimeka, Talisha, Clinton and Danielle; his great-grandchildren, Avery and Carson; his brother, Doris Fugate of Hopkinsville, and his sisters, Fannie Holmes and Alice Herbert, both of Chicago, Ill.
