Dr. Ervin Curtis Belcher, Jr., 71, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at his home in Dickson, Tenn.
He was born in Russellville to the late Ervin Curtis Belcher, Sr., and Carrie McMillen Belcher.
Dr. Belcher graduated from Austin Peay State University in 1965 and from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 1969. Over a long and distinguished career, Dr. Belcher practiced dentistry in various settings throughout the world, including the University of Kentucky and Vanderbilt University, where he held faculty positions; the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; and at dental practices in Nashvill; Dubai; and, most recently, Hohenwald, Tenn.
Funeral services for Dr. Belcher were conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2013, at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Russellville, Kentucky. Visitation at the Trinity Episcopal Church Parrish House was held immediately prior at 1:30 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, or the Nashville Humane Association.
Dr. Belcher is survived by his sons, John Overton Belcher and Jason Lang Belcher, both of Nashville, his granddaughter, and one brother, Otis Belcher, of Clarksville, Tenn.
