Robert Cargile, 79, of Elkton, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.

He was born in Quitman, Ark. on April 13, 1933, a son of the late Clyde and Johnnie Hazelwood Cargile. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cargile was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jo Rogers.

Mr. Cargile was a Vietnam veteran with the United States Army where he received a Bronze Star. He was a member of the Quitman United Methodist Church, Moose Lodge and an active member in the American Quarter Horse Association.

Graveside services were held Monday, Feb. 25 at 11 a.m. at the Kentucky Veterans West Cemetery with Brother Shane Hessey officiating. Visitation began Sunday, Feb. 24 from 5-8 p.m. at the Todd County Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Cargile of Elkton and his brother, Fredrick Cargile of Kirby, Ark.
