Durell “Dude” Smith, 86, of Guthrie, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Hearthstone Place.

He was born in Trigg County on Jan. 7, 1927, a son of the late Cleland and Lillian Grace Holland Smith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters.

Mr. Smith was a member of the Guthrie United Methodist Church and the Guthrie-Bethel Masonic Lodge #669 F&AM where he served as Past Master. He was also a member of Scottish and York Rites and the Ritzpah Shrine.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 15 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of the Cook-Webb Funeral Home with Rob Ballard and Allen Basinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery in Guthrie. Visitation began at the funeral home Thursday, Feb. 14 from 5-7 p.m.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Bellar Smith of Guthrie; his sons, Durell Smith Jr. of Guthrie and David Smith of Lewisburg; his daughters, Linda Thompson of Allensville and Brenda Kay Eakins of Guthrie; 11 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
