Martha S. “Mattie” Byler, 92, of Guthrie, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at her home.

She was born in Dover, Del. on Jan. 27, 1921, a daughter of the late Samuel S. Mast and Anna J. Swartzentruber Mast. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Byler was preceded in death by her husband, Henry R. Byler in 2007; her son, Andrew H. Byler in 1997; her brothers, Aden, Jonas and Henry, and her sisters, Verna, Susie and Malinda.

Mrs. Byler was a homemaker and a member of the North District Amish Church.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 10 a.m. at the North District Amish Church with Bishop Daniel Beachy officiating. Burial followed in the North District Amish Church Cemetery. Visitation began Monday, Feb. 4 after 6 p.m. and Tuesday, Feb. 5 from 1-9 p.m. at the residence, 610 Frogue Road, Guthrie. Latham Funeral Home in Elkton is in charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by her brothers, Levi Mast of Penn. and Andy Mast of N.Y.; her sisters, Edna Miller of Ky. and Clara Miller and Ella Miller, both of Penn.; her grandchildren, Eva (Larry) Gingerich of Cambodia and Ohio, David (Laura) Byler and Samuel (Karen) Byler, both of S.C. and Lois (Mark) Nisley of Ohio; her daughter-in-law, Beulah Graber Byler; her step-grandchildren, Mark (Kathy) Graber, Mary Jane (David) Graber, Norman (Jennifer) Graber, Nathan (Lela) Graber, Marvin (Norma) Graber, Melvin (Sherry) Graber, Jonnie (Gina) Graber, Marjorie (Kerry) Wagler, Ida (Matthew) Graber and Delmar (Hillary) Graber, all of Ind., and 16 great-grandchildren.
