Charles William Thomas, 88, of Hopkinsville, died Feb. 1, 2013, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
He was born in Christian County on Aug. 8, 1924, a son of the late Charlie and Mary Rawlins Thomas.
Mr. Thomas was a United States Navy veteran. He worked for the Hopkinsville Post Office as a maintenance worker.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 5 at 12:30 p.m. at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Hopkinsville with the Reverend Vernon Milner officiating. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veteran West at 2 p.m. Visitation began at the church Tuesday, Feb. 5 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Aline Ferguson Thomas; his daughters, Gloria Ann (Phillip) Poston and Carlisa Waddell; his son, Charles William Thomas, Jr.; his sister, Virginia Grayson; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
