Walter Carl Forbes, 70, of Guthrie, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2013, at his home.

Carl was born in Beaver Dam, Ky. on Sept. 23, 1942, a son of the late Walter and Myrtle Crowe Forbes. In addition to his parents, Mr. Forbes was preceded in death by his son, Paul Allen Forbes; his brothers, James Forbes and William Crowder, and his sisters, Margaret Louise Simpson and Mary Nixon.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Cook-Webb Funeral Home with Reverend Eddie Mitchell officiating. Burial followed in the Highland Cemetery. Visitation began Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 1 p.m.

He is survived by his son, Walter Carl Forbes Jr. of Benton Harbor, Mich.; his daughter, Sandra Krouse of Allegan, Mich.; his sister, Pauline Nixon of Louisville, Ky.; two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
